I LOVE shoes so much that I have more pairs than I could wear in this lifetime. I can’t help myself! From all the years of obsessing over designers, like Chanel, Valentino, Chloe, to name a few, I’ve found the perfect dupes for some of my favorite designs that won’t hurt your soul as you hear your money fly away with every step you take, OUCH!
Since I got so many requests on what I purchased at the Zara sale, I figured I would just make a quick blog post about it!
There were a lot of items on the sale section, it was a little overwhelming. I figured I would see if any textures stood out to me and then just look at those items. I bought 2 tops, 3 bottoms, 1 dress, and 3 pairs of shoes.
Here’s how I styled them.
Look #1
If you read my previous blog post you know that cutout tops are a top trend for 2020. I grabbed this black cutout short sleeve turtleneck , it stood out to me because of the thick-ribbed fabric that feels high quality. I sized up because I did not want the little cut out to look stretched. Don’t be afraid to size up or down, get the size that gives you the look you want.
I styled the top with these houndstooth print pants. I love the small slit on the front, it allows you to wear a heel and adds a little length to you as well. I wore black square front chunky heels so this outfit is very comfortable from head to toe.
Look #2
This is a bodysuit, which is great since it won’t ride up! Love the silky fabric and warm copper color. It
looks great with these sandy tan pants. High waisted, straight or wide-legged pants are a great way to show off your waist and elongate your legs… oh and
if that wasn’t enough, they slim
your thighs! Ahh, music to my ears!
Styled these with the auburn Zara heels to match the top and bring some color to the bottom. Add a jacket to this for work and take it off for an after-work date!
Look #3
Styled the same top from look #1 with these fun skorts!
Skorts allow you to look good and not worry about anything, especially these since they’re stretchy!
Added the nude and black flats, these are great for elongating your legs as well and it brings that black color down so it’s not only on the top.
Look #4
This dress is casual and adorable.
Love the overall relaxed feel of it. I added the nude and black flats to keep it relaxed but you could style it with heels and some fun earrings to dress it up a bit. The fabric is comfortable and the tie belt accentuates the waist.
These are the 3 pairs of shoes I purchased.
They’re comfortable and will go with a lot of outfits in my closet!
I’m a US W size 7.5-8 and I got sizes 38-39
Remember that just because something is on sale it doesn’t mean that you should buy it. I know it may be a great price but is it something that you are going to use, or will it just take space in your closet?
Look at the fabrics, the stitching, design and overall look/feel of the garment. Don’t waste your money on things you dont need . Funny coming from me, a girl with enough dresses in her closet to attend a cocktail party once a week for a lifetime. But I’m working on it! Let’s be better this year. Let’s purchase with a purpose!
New decade new trends!! Let’s talk about what we NEED to stay stylish throughout the year.
Lucky Brand
The Boyfriend Blazer
OK… so we know a blazer is such a staple but in 2020 we are ditching all of the fitted blazers! What we want is an oversized look. We want it to hit past the hip and have a more relaxed feel!
It would be great to pair with a pair of high waisted straight leg jeans to show off your waist and add some length to your legs and an elegant silky blouse to add that feminine softness
Very few things get me more excited than a good pair of high waisted jeans and this year is all about the high wiasted straight leg denim!!!
If you’re like me and have some curves, this is the trend weve been waiting for! The streight leg highwaisted jean does two things flawelesly. 1-schinces you in the waist 2- makes your legs look longer. Who doesnt love that!

Cut Out Tops
One-shoulder cut out tops or just cutout tops, in general, are so in right now!
Interesting cut out shapes to show off your clavicle are edgy with the right amount of sexy. I’m excited to try this look with high waisted jeans, a small heel, and artsy jewelry.
I love clothes with interesting shapes and fits, I’m so here for this trend.
Anything Vintage
Vintage Dior
Vintage never goes out of style. Go into your mom’s closet, go into your grandma‘s closet, and grab those unique vintage pieces.
It can be vintage bags, jewelry, jackets. Anything vintage I think is a must-have for this year. I love to pair vintage pieces with anything I can. A cute outfit would be a silky midi dress, boyfriend blazer, vintage jewelry, a vintage purse, and a cute square front heel.
We’re moving more towards sustainable fashion so hit those vintage/second-hand stores and find some unique pieces
High Quality Fabrics
As we become more aware of sustainable fashion and purchasing with purpose, investing in good high-quality clothing is a must. Especially when it comes to basic pieces.
You’re going to be reaching for these pieces on a weekly if not daily basis, so you want to make sure that what you’re purchasing is of good quality. This way we can reduce waste by not needing to repurchase items as frequent
The No Makeup Look
The days where we would wake up and do a full face of makeup are gone! This year it’s all about letting your skin breathe. Applying minimal makeup to accentuate your features, not to change the way that you look but to bring out your natural beauty.
Use a bb cream and a light cream blush. Use the same cream blush on your lips and eyelids. Apply a light coat of mascara and anything else you feel would complete your look, maybe a little highlighter. Keep it simple and let your skin shine!
By Far
Square Shoes
Brands like Fendi and By Far have done this very well. I love the square shoe look, it adds a little more edge to your outfit. I’ll be trying this throughout the summer on heels! They’re also super comfortable (no squeezing toes!)
Boater Hat
I love hats but I don’t wear them that much. I have a lot of hair that’s crazy and curly so if I put a hat on top of it and then end up taking it off later it’s just gonna be messy so I can never commit to wearing a hat throughout the day. With that being said… I am going to be trying it especially since the boater hats are a looser and more relaxed. They add some vacation vibes to your outfit. An easy outfit to add the hat to would be, a sundress, comfortable flats, a relaxed denim jacket, and a crossbody bag. You can wear this throughout the year by getting boater hats in different fabrics.

Dr.Martens
Chunky Military Boots
Saw this a lot on the runway. I think that it’s an effortless way to add some edge into your outfit, and since military boots are super comfortable it’s a win-win situation! The Dr. Martens Leona 7-Eye Hiker Boot is a great option. They’re timeless, extremely comfortable but still feminine and rebellious.
Big Fun Sleeves
If you’re a fashion addict and royal history admirer like myself, you already have a closet full of fun sleeves! Thankfully this trend is here to stay awhile. Wear blouses with big sleeves under tight spaghetti strap dresses for a fun layered look or with a pair of faux leather pants and a heel. Either way, you will look fabulous!
Slouchy bags/pillow bags
Even though I will never give up my structured bags, I’m still very excited to try this look… mostly since it’s basically a carry around pillow hehe! Jokes aside tho. These bags have a laidback vibe and are very versatile to wear. Grab it to go out to lunch with the girls, hair- beachy waves, wearing a comfy blouse and some comfortable high waisted straight leg denim paired with a little heel or for a date night, a silky low cut slip dress, hair up in a ponytail, layered necklaces, and an elegant heel.
Fashion earrings
Bold earrings are in again! They’re a great way to elevate your outfit from something casual to a little sassier. If you feel that your outfit is missing something, add bold earrings. Look for elegant, artsy shapes made out of high-quality materials. Choose something artsy and elegant. I’m all about accessories, they make the biggest difference.
I hope you are as excited as I am to rock these trends throughout 2020.
